Son received update on NROTC status page of selection for 4-year scholarship (Marine Option) just prior to Christmas. Have received nothing in U.S. Mail and no emails from school. What should we be looking for?

I assume instructions from DODMERB based on what I have read here.

Should we hear from the NROTC community at his appointed school?

Should we hear from NROTC HQ?

Also, what should we be doing while we are waiting.

Thanks, in advance, for your advice!

The recruiting district should be sending out selection letters and packages. Send an email to pnsc_nrotc.placement@navy.mil and request the Acceptance Questionnaire be forwarded. DoDMERB will send a separate letter with information on getting medically qualified. It will arrive on Air Force letterhead, so don't throw away.

Next, have your son contact the unit in which he is placed to see if there is any information they need. It is important to keep the assigned NROTC unit involved in any changes.

Now that he is selected the Placement office will handle him up until he starts school.

Thank you P-Flying17.

We will contact the Placement office as suggested.

I believe I have read that there is a 30-day requirement on some of the paperwork. Perhaps the questionaire? When does the clock start ticking on that? We would hate to miss out or jeopardize anything over something like that.

One clarification on P-Flying17's comments. The envelope from DoDmERB was from Concorde (the private contractor who handles the physicals). It is stamped "ROTC/ Military Academy MEDICAL FORMS" so you will know what it is right away.
