One college

On my application I only listed one college because that is the college that I have already been accepted too. Is that ok? (AROTC) at UNCC

The only issue is if UNCC has no AROTC slots available but maybe your alternative "plan B" school may have a 4 year available.

It costs nothing to list a few additional schools except for the application fees for those colleges.

Think college applications are closed now, but just curious why you didn't apply to few more schools, I understand applying to 5 ROTC schools can be costly? My sons school gives college application waivers to students in need. I told my son to apply to few dream schools as well as safe schools:). You'll never know unless you try, best wishes:)

I would try for at least a school or two as backups. Let's put it this way, if UNCC is listed first, they will look there first to see if a slot is open before going onto your next school. Yes some schools applications are closed, but some have rolling admissions, and you might still have time.

I did apply to more schools but I had my heart set strong here. Should I still put some down just in case?

If your plan is to go to UNCC with or without a AROTC scholarship, then there is no problem.

But think about this. Does the AROTC application process include an interview? If it does you will probably have to explain why only UNCC is listed on the application during your officer interview. They want to understand that serving in the Army is important to you and not just getting paid to go to school. So, if you don't get an AROTC scholarship how are you going to fulfill you dream of serving in the Army? Some possible answers could be, officer training after college or joining the AROTC program even without a scholarship. Think about what you story is.

JoeySwink, it really does not hurt you. If UNCC is listed number one and you get a scholarship, they will look for spots there first, then they look to the next school and so on. If for some reason when you are awarded a scholarship, UNCC is taken but you are offered one to another school, you have a decision to make. You can also try to get a campus based scholarship at UNCC for sophomore year on. My DD is in the same boat, heart is really set on GCU, but she also visited some other schools she likes a lot, just not as much. So she listed all four and if for some reason she doesn't get her first choice but does get one of the other schools, she will have to decide to either go to her first choice and hope to earn a scholarship on campus or go to one of the other three schools. But having more choices never hurts!

Great!!! That's exactly what I had my mind set on. Thanks 5day. I will keep it as only UNCC. Also, I have completed an interview in which I explained pretty much what you have stated. I appreciate all of the comments!!

Good Luck.
You should reach out to someone at UNCC ROTC. You could ask if there are opening left, if you could join if you did not have a scholarship and find out about the program. But then you may have already done that.
