If you are selected to receive an appointment, will the online status change to 'appointee' before or after you get your letter of an appointment?

It normally changes to "Appointment Offered" first. until you've accepted it.

So your online status will change to Appointment offered before you get the BFE.. ?? and then the BFE will show up a few days later??

That depends....My son got the BFE first, but he heard of others who saw it first online.

Good Luck!

I received my BFE literally 2 hours after my online status was changed. It all just depends on timing.

This is what mine says:
Your Status: Candidate*
Appointment Status: Appointment Accepted

...

*When you submit your application you become a "Prospect." When USAFA processes your application you become an "Applicant." Should USAFA deem you competitive and/or you receive a nomination, you will become a "Candidate." Note that you may receive a nomination and still not be deemed competitive by USAFA

From my understanding, "your status" never actually changes to "appointee," it'll still show up as candidate even after you have received your appointment.

And for me, I received the BFE before my online status changed to "appointment offered."

My son was the opposite. online changed to appointment offered a couple days before the BFE arrived. A candidate from PA had the status change the same day as my son but got the BFE that day. So watch both the mailbox and the app status. DS accepted over a month ago and his statuses say Candidate Appointment accepted.
