I was awarded an NROTC scholarship and received a disqualification for color vision from DoDMERB. I failed the PIP plate test at the DoDMERB physical and also failed the Farnsworth Lantern Test today. Do I have any other options for utilizing my scholarship?
I was doing my FAA physical for a first-class pilot's license at the same time that I took the FALANT test for NROTC, but as I said before, I failed the FALANT test. I can still take an operational color vision test for the FAA and get a SODA (Statement of Demonstrated Ability) if I pass it. I know that DoDMERB accepts any documentation at any time from those waiting for waivers, so would it be worth my while to send in my SODA from the FAA if I were to get one?
