From Defense.Gov Restrictions are tightening
Local leave only among other restrictions

CONUS flight and hotel for vacation had already been cancelled to avoid any possible quarantine upon return. Hopefully the newly planned rural driving vacation inside a 250 mile radius is approved.

We got this news last night from Son #1. He and his wife were flying to Florida to meet us at our Daughter #1’s house for spring break. Now they are just going to stay local in New Mexico and go camping. We are undecided if we are still going ourselves. Disney and most other destinations will be closed, but as far as I know they haven’t closed the fishing on Tampa Bay 😁.

Was walking with DW in Manhattan the other day when she attempted to hold my hand. Fortunately I was able to implement the social distancing regulations just in time :) Whew...that was a close one!

REAL QUESTION here...I have one at Air Force Basic presently. Slated to graduate and return home end of March. Wonder about all those trainees out there. Maybe they are technically enlisted, so can still fly (home, in our case).

Through May is quite a while!

From the 2nd paragraph of the memo linked in @AROTC Parent 's post:

"This memorandum applies to all DoD military and civilian personnel and their families assigned to DoD installations, facilities, and surrounding areas in the United States and its territories. All DoD military personnel will stop movement while this memorandum is in effect". (Emphasis added) Effective 03/16/2020 thru 05/11/2020

I don’t know. Neither of my kid’s spouses who are affected seem to have an issue following this directive. It’s what they signed up for when they married them.

Smart people do smart things. I coined that phrase. Maybe.

The policy of no personal travel doesn't apply to dependents only service members. The guidance on dependents stated DOD is halting all permanent changes of station for 60 days.
