I can’t stand it, time is moving very slow. As some of you know my oldest son is a c4c (freshman) at the Air Force Academy and this is the first time his younger brother and sister have seen him since he left for basic training in June and his mother and I since Parents weekend. He didn’t come home for Thanksgiving but finished his last final today and is headed for the airport right now. We are all anxiously awaiting his plane to land safely tonight and give him a hug. Talked to him last night though and he’s just wondering if the dogs will remember him or not. I think he misses them more than us.

I envy you this early time with your son, @Bigrod. Like yours, our son (Army, 2nd LT) was unable to come home for Thanksgiving so, like you, we're experiencing time at glacial speed until he arrives on the 20th. He has no idea how tight that first hug will be. I may never let go. :)

I remember that first time home after Beast. He mostly slept the first three days, tortured his cat some, and spent the rest of the time sleeping some more and eating his favorite things. Pretty much ditto every break.

Enjoy your time with him.
