Hi everyone,

I am a non-commissioned cadet, who joined Army ROTC last month and was offered in-state tuition. My battalions Commanding Officer had told me about it and said I should receive in-state tuition even though im not contracted yet. But, It would be through GI benefits, but I do not have active duty hours. Confused as to what to do, do I change my student status to veteran?

What did the CO say? If it's something offered by the school I don't understand why it goes through GI Bill benefits.

The CO had told me that I should receive it even though im not contracted, but when I went to my admissions office, which handles military/in-state and out of state tuitions, they said it would be through the GI bill.

Well, I'm no GI Bill expert so I'll defer to others.

Neither am I. Given that your battalion PMS rotates out periodically, your ROO may have more accurate info about how to handle your situation. The ROO's generally stay put longer.
