My son, the original layed back guy, finally told me the "waiting" was starting to bother him.........I am starting to think there are very few left who haven't gotten any word from USNA.

My son is in the same position. Settled in with NROTC and Drexel, but waiting on USNA. At least not hearing means that they are still in the loop.

echoing the sounds from my neandrothral

my son too hasn't heard - am sure like others, q'd and nom, just waiting - for what it is worth, his BGO told him at xmas, when the last piece of "ingredients" was fulfilled, that word would come usually by april 15th. Now in mid March I too was thinking its getting toooo late. My son did speak to his BGO officer last night - guy turned out to be interested in what he is doing now, but SAID lots more appointments to come - am hoping he isn't just being kind! we wait together - just a thought, but my son had presidental nom, maybe that's the wait - After reading these sites for some time, I wonder if the "smoke and mirrors" works on MOC noms first, then pres or other kinds? Obivously those that had LOA's (not here, but did go to CVW in Nov) have probably heard first since those were handed out first and early. Just some rambling thoughts - thanks for revealing of yourselves - just knowing that my son isn't the only one does help -

BGO also said NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS - did notice couple posters reported the VERY SAD news of "no offer" letter this past week - guess he was refering to that possibility.

Daughter still waiting here also. ROTC @ NC State in hand but pacing around the mailbox for USNA.

Thank you guys so much. I am glad LOTS more appointments to come is still out there.....my son is going to CVW next week and I am so afraid a thin letter will come before he goes..... I think it would be hard for him to go knowing he got that. I will go with the no news is good news for now......praying for all those waiting and will hang in til we all get news.....and very happy for SHELLZ who had to go thru this process twice before with USCGA and got the good word this week.....

We too are very fortunate to have NROTC with FSU in hand......

Awww....

G-you are too sweet.
I am crossing my fingers for you and your boy....but I want him at CGA!!!! Come back to that board....!!!:wink:

Seriously though, good, no GREAT!, news is on the way. Hang in there girlfriend!

......still waiting here as well. Son is triple Q, with nomination from MOC (no letter of assurance). Have not received any word from USNA, CGA or NROTC. Will hold on to the thought, "no news is good news".

we too are triple Q, MOC nom, no LOA, mailman came, mailman went, still only mail from MACY'S........thank you Shellz, I am still hitting that board, still waiting on USCGA too......

perhaps there are many of us without the LOA in the waiting pattern now - my son was fortunate enough to secure his backup - NROTC at VMI then to reapply next year - but certainly not making any plans until he gets word - I would NOT worry about CVW - I can NOT imagine usna sending thin letter before he goes - even with other comments recently that "most appointments have been sent" - I can't help but believe that BGO has to know his stuff and HE SAID LAST NIGHT that there were still many to go and would be some late into april or so (assume this is to cover late medical issues, appointments returned - can't imagine, or whatever???) as my son said all fall and winter - have faith .... keep us posted, thank you again for revealing - it IS helpful

Still waiting here as well and very hopeful that your BGO is correct and there are still a lot of appointments to go out. That is encouragement for us all. Keeping our fingers crossed for all of us still waiting . . . nice to know we are not alone.

on a bright note, my son's NROTC scholarship status just changed to "Congratulations you have been selected for a 4 yr Navy option scholarship". Still waiting on word from USNA and CGA thought.

Yippeee kay ayyy

Congrats on your childs scholarship!!!!!!! celebrate it!!!

Also waiting!

Never have posted before but have loved reading what you all have to say! My son is waiting as well with 2 noms and triple q. No CVW but he did attend the summer seminar last year. I have also had the feeling that no news is good news right now. Glad to know that we are not alone! Trying with all my heart to leave it in God's hands (along with admissions!). Hats off to all for even undertaking the process - what a journey it has been. Good luck!

SRHSMOM - hang in there. We JUST got the blue folder yesterday, and I had about given up. But - our BGO did tell me last week that appointments will be made for the next month. BTW - no status change on Dodmerb site or call from the BGO, we found out before he did. We will be at the CVW next week too and will cross our fingers (and toes) for you too!

No word either

My son is still waiting to hear as well, good to hear there are quite a few others....

wow, I am surprised of how many parents are in this forum.
