Once again, I am so very impressed with admissions at USCGA. Yesterday, my son brought in a large package from admissions. It contained a few academy spirit items as well as a handwritten note welcoming him. It brought another spark of excitement into the house:biggrin: Now if only I can convince him that I need the keychain:wink:

Mom,

Tell your congratulations on the appointment. Thanks for serving our country.

You can be proud of him, take the appointment.

God Speed Good Luck, RGK

DD was beaming when the package arrived. She too opened it to find a USCGA pennant, pen and 'flotation' device key chain; very nice :thumb:
The handwritten welcome note was the icing on the cake.
106 days until RDay (but whose counting?) :shake:

^^^^
And our Ensign can't believe it's been almost a year since she graduated! :thumb:
Cool pictures sent to use of the Alex Haley covered in ice and tales of her out there chipping the forward deck (in 8 degrees and blowing snow). Brrrr
This is her FOURTH patrol since she reported in early July! They are sure keeping them busy  But those Academy grads can handle the long hours and stressful conditions. USCGA prepared them well!

Would LOVE to see those pics...

Did the package of goodies come after receiving the letter confirming the receipt of the acceptance papers or at the same time? Just curious. I'll beg my son for the key chain when it comes.

Islander! Package arrived shortly AFTER receiving the letter (I'm estimating 4 or 5 days).
Just put 2 and 2 together and I know who your future cadet is :shake: since there aren't too many who have accepted from Micronesia. In fact I was looking over the acceptance list and mentioned to our future cadet, "you need to get to know this person." She looked up Micronesia on Wikipedia and was very impressed.
PM me if you have any questions about RDay or just to chat.

USNA1982BGO,

I sent you a PM yesterday. Internet connection was terrible so please let me know if you received it or not. Thanks.

Received your PM. Sent a reply.
PS: If your package doesn't arrive, we'll give you our key chain! :thumb:

Package arrived today. Nice touch CGA admissions! I'll agree that the hand written note was classy. Thanks for the offer of the extra keychain but no need. My begging worked like a charm.
