Hello everyone,

My parents have no problem signing the parental consent form; however, they are asked to read USMA form 5-50 before signing. I cannot locate this form anywhere, and I am trying to finish my paperwork as soon as possible. Do I just need to be a little more patient? Or is there somewhere I can find it?

Thank you,

Jwmiller6

Hi Jwmiller6. Contact admissions via your portal and ask about the form. DS still has five more items to complete.

5-50 is the Agreement to Serve, and the contents can be located with reference to 10 USC 4348 - this link will help you fine it -- basically it details what you agree to (5 years active duty, if you are separated, you can be required to go enlisted for the term of years equal to your remaining obligation or pay back the $$ at the discretion of the Secretary of the Army) These obligations don't kick in until the first day of class cow year. If you are under 18, West Point wants your parents to understand the legal obligation you are undertaking.
