Hello,
I just received a letter from USAFA today about the Parents Club for 2015 Appointees. It requests a reply mail and it must be signed by the appointee. The thing is, my online status still lists letter of assurance and to my knowledge, I have not yet been awarded a nomination. Therefore, I cannot be an appointee yet..... so I was wondering why this letter got sent to me so early in the process?

I was just getting confused because everywhere on the letter and the form it says "Appointee". Also the address they sent it from is different from normal admissions mailings: it says HQ USAFA/CMA (normally the mail I get from the academy says HQ USAFA/RRS)... does this make a difference at all?

Thanks for your help.

Oops. Reread letter. Seems they are just trying to get set up so there isn't a big rush next spring getting all the info or being able to provide help. Decided to fill out the card and mail it.

Yeah my mom got that postcard the same day I got my loa, and I filled it out and mailed it back, but I was wondering if anyone knows why the appointee has to fill this out and sign it when it is for the PARENTS club? I was just curious I guess. Thanks

Good question about why the appointee has to, not that I'm complaining. I just got the letter with the return postcard about that. My online status also still says LOA, and my nomination status updated a week or so ago. I'm fully qualified now so I'm hoping for a BFE anytime now. But it seems to me they wouldn't send out letters like that unless you were an appointee... It'd be kind of cruel to recieve it, think you got in and fill it out, then find out later you weren't appointed.
