Parents portal

Just sent you a DM....We will figure this out.

For anyone who is trying to join West Point Moms on FB, there are three questions. If you do not answer all three questions, your request to join is automatically deleted after an hour.

I didn't have Facebook until about a year and a half ago, when my oldest kid went to college. At that university, there was no way to navigate without being a part of their Facebook parents page.

Regarding West Point, in FB I'm on:

West Point Moms
West Point Class of 2027
Proud Moms of West Point Female Cadets, and
(my local WP parent club)

The groups are private, and there is a screening procedure so the people in those groups really are, and are only: WP moms, WP parents of 2027, etc.

It does not eat away at a lot of my time, and I've received lots of helpful info. I resisted FB for all these years, but I decided if I had to join that I was going to make it work for me and minimize it working against me. There are settings to keep me private, I did not use my first+last name, I did not "friend" anyone and I am unsearchable. I also log out every time I leave the site. Yet I can post and ask questions and I have also helped a few parents with questions they have had.

Looks like there's a West Point Dads, and West Point Parents, Grandparents and Relatives groups.

I know this is not what you asked, but I want to bring it up because of its utility. As an aside, it's helped me feel like I'm entering into a welcoming community.

Hope this helps!
Did the West Point moms page get deleted?

I have a 2024 and 2025 cadet and have not heard of a parent portal. Most of my information comes from cadets, facebook or emails from Deb Dalton. If you are not on her list get on it!

Deb Dalton is the official West Point parent resource. She works in the Public Affairs Office (PAO).

Here’s a letter of introduction from Deb, of particular interest to families of new cadets.

welcome and congratulations! sorry I have stopped being so diligent about checking this page since getting on on the fb sites. Yes, it does take a couple of days to get approved for access to those sites. Your son is fully accepted? Has he accepted his appointment? There is one group you can join as an undecided and another you can join once he has accepted his appointment. We are a new WP family as well (our son is 2027 too)- you will meet some folks who have sent multiple children to USMA and or other Academies who are a wealth of information but feel free to try me here with questions. One difficulty we are encountering is that all the communication is to our son through the "portal" to which we have no access. The upside is that he is fully responsible to keep up with all requirements / milestones along the way (as he has been throughout the 18month arduous application process). The downside is we are on these sites being flooded with information and much of it my son has already dealt with. The short of it is though, if he can manage the portal and he is sharing the information or asking for your help when needed, all will get done. Let me know if I/we can help with any questions and congratulations again!
I’d love information on the undecided candidate! How can we join that group.
