Does anyone know if there is a parents' weekend this fall? I found that there was one last year, and it appears to be a new event. Plebe weekend is in the spring. If there is one, I'd welcome any information, like the dates.

The fall calendar has not yet been posted. It is supposed to be posted sometime this month so we will know the dates of upcoming WP events soon.

It's now called Family Weekend and will be October 21-23 (found this on the Mom's FB page). The first one was for the class of 2018. It is for all classes, parents & family, so expect bigger crowds, booked hotels and longer lines. If you can't attend PPW c/o 2020 (or didn't for c/o 2019), it would be a good thing to attend (especially if you live far away, $$ is an issue, etc.). I imagine those that live close by attend as many things as are offered/work with their schedule.

If you are planning to attack Family Weekend here are a few ideas to consider. If you are member of a WP Parent Club, you may want to set up a site next to the baseball fields that has food and beverages for your family, friends and Cadets to enjoy. If you don't have a Club find one that my be setting up a site and try to make arrangements to be included. You may need to offer a donation. There are not that many places to eat, however there will be busses transporting from parking areas to the Plain. It will be busy. But a great time! A few years back I was treated to sock puppet show from a Cadet window!

Thanks to all for the helpful information. We had been thinking about making arrangements for the Columbus Day weekend, based on last year's event. I'm glad we didn't get too serious with any travel $$ yet.

You should join the FB page for your class year so that you get info about dates/events.

Army hosts University of North Texas in football that weekend.

Trying to decide between that and Air Force game...

Where can you find this FB page at? I googled it, but it didn't come up. THX

It's called West Point Moms. To be added if your DS/DD has accepted his/her appointment, private message the admins. Mom3boys (on here) is an admin. It's a closed group - moms only. If you are already on the 2020 class page, you can ask Debra Dalton (the official parent liaison for WP & admin) (or another parent) for the link. Or PM Mom3boys here with your name/DS/DD's name and she can add you.
