Planning our trip out to the AFA now; wishing there was more official info regarding activities and events, mandatory/non-mandatory, etc. Does anyone know, are there any "official" events on Friday, 9/3, or does it all start on Saturday? Thank you.

While there is no official word on 2021 PW activities yet, in previous years there was always a parade on Friday morning. Cadets will need to report on Saturday morning for squadron tailgating & must attend the football game. They will be released after the game and must report back to USAFA on Monday evening. Recommend parents plan to arrive on Thursday and leave on Tuesday morning.

We are flying to see our son on Thursday, and flying back on Tuesday. They'll be posting events here soon!

You may want to review previous posts on PW as there's lots of good info there if you haven't done so already. For ex., bring water bottles for hydration(for 7K+elevation), sunscreen, sun hats, $$ for shopping trip/dorm room stuff (computer screen, printer, etc). You may have big travel plans for your Cadet but he/she may want to just sleep & eat & hang out at the hotel. Our DD slept a lot. Secure a car rental NOW. Rates drop sometimes when the weekend gets close so you can cancel the 1st one if a better rate comes up. Rentals are very slim for PW. Definitely have that hotel reservation/Airbnb done. You can see where I'm going...
Enjoy!
Wait till you see the change the last 90 days has made in your Cadet. We dropped off a HS girl, we got back a young woman!

Thank you! Our DS is Class of 24, so this will be our first PW. But we have seen already the change you have described!

Updated PW notes released to the Parent’s Clubs. If you’re not a member of your state parent club, I would suggest it. The clubs are active in most states.

• Arnold Hall will have the Info Fair – Parent Clubs will be selling items.

SUNDAY

Jack’s Valley Tours. Shuttles will run from 9:30am to 2:00pm (every 30 minutes). Park at the Field House (near the parade field)

OTHER

If you are a military aircraft nut like I admittedly am, then you can go to Peterson AFB. The plan is to have four F-15s on static display. They are also trying to get four F-16s. You will need someone with a base pass to get onto the base (ie: your cadet). More information pending.
