Title says it all, parents weekend for 2020 is canceled. I feel all should have expected this anyway but Commandment made decision a formality.
 
Not surprised to be honest. Hopefully they will at least get downtime.

By the way, how did you find out. I feel like I am not on some disteibution list that other people are because I have found a few things on here like a letter in May a couple other things.

Join the USAFA Class of 2024 Parents Group site on FB. There are also individual FB pages for each squadron.
 
As stated above join the class page of your cadet on Facebook but be prepared people like to jump to conclusions on everything before it’s true. I don’t have Facebook myself but I jump on my wife’s every once in a while and stuff I sometimes see amazes me.
 
USMMA Parent's Weekend is "postponed" but we read that as cancelled. It was already scheduled for October which is after USAFA's. USCGA cancelled fall sports.... I think we will see MORE of these types of announcements in the coming days.
 
Agree with USAFA's decision. We were going to vacation in COS anyway. Now DH says, let's go for 2 weeks instead! Haha!

Agree with @SOFLO2024Dad and especially @Bigrod to join FB page(s) and self-filter.

My daily routine:
Check multiple times a day!

WEBGUY - always read blog first, then pictures (usually in PM)
USAFA Flickr - makes great stock photos to add to your videos!

facebook/instagram
USAFA Class of 2024 parents (best for specific news to 2024 and Wing-wide, ie PW)
USAFA Squadron page (best if you can't decide if a pix is your kid - post and others will claim it or not)
USAFA local parents group (excellent you really should get involved; secondary way to get formal notices)
USAFA parents page (really good to see what is coming up in future years)
US AIr Force Academy (good stock photos by non-WebGuy who take excellent photos)
AOG (great stock photos and other news)
Webguy facebook (Here is the exception. I get notices AND set this as FIRST in my feed, so if I happen to miss the 10 times a day I check the actual WebGuy, i'll get notification pix are up!)
USAFA Supt, commandant, AOG (great other photos as well!)

Unfollow all so you won't get any in your normal feed, and only go there when you want to see what's happening. Get to know the moderators and the parent liasion and set your sort to Recent Activity to arrange by time the actual posts. Those are the ones to watch for.

We received a message from the USAFA Parents Liaison with the official notice from Brig. Gen. Edmondson
