Parents Weekend Football game

We purchased several tickets through our MoKan parents club. But, I do not know if they can obtain more since it was a "bulk" buy based on numbers the members said they wanted. I believe they cost us about $27 each.
 
Unless AF football is really interesting to you, get the cheapest possible tickets (we bought our through usafa site years ago, for $5 {it is NOT Steeler football, so really, who cares?}).

If they handle it like they've done in the past, once the groups have had their opportunity to purchase tickets, they'll open it up to individual sales (there would be a discount code for parents.)
 
I purchased mine through our parents' organization and used a code to be able to purchase tickets in our designated section but they were $25 apiece!

Yes, the prices seem to have gone up this year.
Also remember that there will be a cost for parking as well -- I think $10
 
We disagree with "get the cheap seats." USAFA football is already the least expensive venue we've watched D-1 football. Seats close to the 50 yard line are a deal at $35 in the middle section and $25 in the upper section. Similar seats in the Big House are close to $150 to see Mich play UCF. (And this doesn't begin to touch the "your DS is getting a free education!") So, go big! Treat your family to good seats! (PS. It can get really hot in that stadium...seats near the press box usually get some shade by the second half.)
 
Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen!
It is brutal. Hot. Extremely hot. It's one of the worst stadiums I've ever been in for fan comfort. If you're a wussy, you might want to skip it. Your kid won't be sitting with you anyway, and the traffic is a bear. You may wait in line an hour or more.

Man... I am bringing you down aren't I?
Just be prepared to get really hot and tired.
 
If you are prior service, you can get a veteran discount using troop ID right from the website. We got first row near 50 yard line for 30 a ticket they were supposed to be 50.
 
Last year we bought pack of 4 tickets$20 each. That pack includes usafa caps and hot dog for each. Tickets were in great location. This year our parents club was distributing 'discounted' tickets at $50 each. Not sure what's going on and I hope $20 tickets still available otherwise no game for us(we are hockey fans so do not watch football). We also prepurchased parking but were told it was not needed as we had our cadet it a car parking would be free.

It sounds like your parent club must have reserved seats in a more premium section than mine did. I paid $35 each.
 
We sat with our parents organization only 4* year, then found our own cheaper, far-away seats. Our kids found us easily and there was indeed some shade way up in the nosebleed seats.

Whether to spend the money or go cheap, all depends on one's perspective. Do what seems right for your family!

If you plan to go out for supper in a close-in location, try to make reservations, or eat REALLY late. Some parents groups have BBQs in the far grass (east side?) and of course, a stop at Thudgate is a must - A MUST! Traffic is relatively slow there (will be of no consequence for those of you from big grid-locked cities), both before and after the game.

Must haves: sunscreen and a hat and sunglasses. It's HOT and the right side of your face will fry!
 
So, if I don't go to the football game, I can meet up with my daughter, say an hour or so after the game?
 
This year, I'm going to try to get a spot to stand above the team as they leave the tunnel. I have heard that it's a lot of fun to look down into the tunnel & watch the Cadets there (prior to their marching onto the field) as well.
 
People used to drop money and candy and other things in the tunnel to the cadets. Do they still do that?

Look for the Chick-fil-A folks in the parking lot. They pass out all sorts of "free meal" and "free _____ " (drinks, fries, sandwiches, etc) coupons.
 
Did the parent's discount code come out yet?

And I disagree with 'going big' for this game, especially. This is not d-1 football, this is an exhibition. This will not be a competitive game whatsoever and 3/4 of my family could not care less about football. The only reason they go is to see our son/brother for a few extra minutes.
