This was some of the best advice given to us, so I thought I would share it.
Doolies will need to wear service blues EVERYWHERE they go off base on Parents Weekend. This includes hotel lobbies and restaurants. So, as much as you want to treat them to a great meal out and a fancy hotel room, I suggest (as was suggested to me) that you rent an AirBnB for that weekend. My son LOVED it, because he could wear regular shorts and a t-shirt and just really relax. I made one of his favorite meals from home, but other than that we just ordered in.
He mostly slept, too. Don't be offended if your cadet sleeps more than socializes with you. They are EXHAUSTED beyond measure.
Oh, and they need to stay within a 40 miles radius of base for PW. Please correct me if I am wrong on that.
