- Lt. Col. Robert L. Hite, the last survivor among eight crewmen who were captured by the Japanese in Jimmy Doolittle’s daring air raid in 1942, died on Sunday in Nashville. He was 95.
- A POW of Japan for 40 months, he credited having access to the Bible essential in being able to survive.
- There are only 2 survivors alive from this raid. They are scheduled to receive a Congressional medal April 15th.
