Patiently Waiting!!!!

Do not know the exact number but from good sources- about 200 to 250.

Since I also have a LOE, will I know If I'm accepted late February since my RC told me that I am the highest ranked candidate from my district? I got a competitive nomination by the way.

And will the candidate portal tell me that I am accepted? I am getting paranoid thinking maybe that the mailman might destroy my hopeful BFE:eek:

February 26th cannot get here fast enough!!

Just wondering what everyone thinks. I am in a competitive district of VA.

Received an LOE in September, a letter stating I am triple qualified 2 weeks ago.
I am First alternate with my congressional nomination.
I have a presidential nomination.
Perfect GPA - 4.34 - with all honors or AP classes.
630 math SAT, 630 Verbal SAT (did not take ACT).
Went to Boys State and Boys Nation.
10 Varsity Letters and 3 years team captain (indoor and outdoor track, cross country).
Meically qualified and passed physical fitness test.

Getting soooooo nervous, just want that BFE!!! I cannot imagine being anywhere else besides USMA (I know that's cheesy, but so true!!) :thumb:

Hey just straight up ask your RC. My RC actually told me that I'm far ahead of everyone else in my congressional district and to stay healthy. He told me this after I tried to update my awards.

Remember that nothing is 100%. If your Congressman gave you a appointment and did not give anyone a P-Nom, then you are in good shape. In effect, in that case, the Congressman allows West Point to determine who gets the P-Nom from his nominees. If you are really the #1 ranked person then your chances are VERY high (nothing is 100%). You should know in about 3 weeks for sure.

yea nothing is 100% sure..Does anything on the candidate portal change once West Point accepts you?

Last month my RC actually told me that he thinks he will probably see me on July 1. I hope I don't have my hopes up just to see it all come down...

Portal

Yes your portal will have a message for you if they offer.

Does anyone know what they do if the person ahead of me with the P-nom is still undergoing a medical waiver? What does WP do around February 26th if the waiver is not complete?

You wouldn't happen to be from Randy Forbes district would you?

Geeeezzzzz

I've never seen it sooooo slooooooww here. In another two weeks the flood gates will open.

Ever wonder why my signature is what it is. Cause thats what I do eighteen hours a day, push and press big boats around. Sometimes it gets real interesting when the CG storms a deck and finds weird things. Thank goodness for them keeping some real bad junk getting inside our country.

I have a sat uplink for weather, comms and internet. When I get a moment I check things out.

Good Luck to everyone in the next few weeks.

Principle Nom undergoing waiver...

I believe that a principle nom undergoing the waiver process has until April 15th or longer depending on the circumstances. Each waiver case is so individualized that a generalization cannot really be made in this answer.

Thanks for the responses!

The only information I left out was the extra curricular activities which include class club president, volunteer time, seat on youth advisory council for city council, et.

The "qualified" letter I received did state that all qualifeid applicants are on put on the national waiting list. Is this the same list that only 150 are pulled from?

I did visit WP last month and spent the night. I had the chance to meet with someone from the admissions office while there. They could not tell me anything but said that I was a strong candidate.

Hey Tug was that you pulling that Carnival Ship into Mobile Alabama?

My Side Hurts...

You guys are too funny. That Carnival vessel is a big boat with very precious cargo. At a minimum for vessel recovery they need an ocean certified tug with a minimum of 4000 to 6000 HP and 2" cable windlass. In addition another two tugs on the port and starboard to manage current drift. Odd as it is cables break often and can be extremely dangerous on the aft deck. You can tell when a cable is at its max when it smokes from the internal friction.

I don't know too much about the vessel recovery companies in the south or who was involved in the vessel recovery. Just guessing, the bill is around 15 grand an hour. A 4000 hp tug can burn up 120 gals of fuel an hour.
