I've been watching my medical status closely. Maybe twice a day . I'm kind of nervous because the medical part is the most worrisome for me.

One academy had me medically "disqualified" early this morning. Then, I just got home and found it to say "Pending Waiver Submission/Review." Does this mean the academy deems me academically qualified and wants a waiver? Or is this just the standard thing?

Thank you

My DS's DODMERB looks like this:

14-AUG-13 Date letter sent - Disqualification
10-SEP-13 Date exam reviewed
Current Medical Status: Pending Waiver Submission/Review (USNA and USMMA)

We have been in the vortex for 2 months. My sense is that it is now in the hands of the Academies to determine if they will or will not make a waiver.

Interestingly enough, he also has full applications in for NROTC and USCGA. So far, these have not shown on his DODMERB.

We only check 2x per month now...

New waiver pending

Our son's status for USNA and USMMA just switched to pending waiver submission review as well. Not sure if this is something to be hopeful about or not, but we are still going forward. Nomination interview is in two weeks.

We had a status update in mid-Oct with the USCGA. Like the USMMA and the USNA, the USCGA status is "Pending Waiver Submission/Review".

Still nothing in terms of Naval ROTC.

I suspect (just a hunch) that they will not consider until DS has a nomination. He had 1st interview (Congressional) on Friday and felt good. We have one Senator this week and the 2nd on the 21st...

Meanwhile, we just keep on rollin'...

For ROTC you will typically not hear anything regarding DoDMERB until you have been awarded the scholarship.

Last year DS had DODMERB in hand and then got nomination. Go figure. Interview after doing exam for WP. Then ROTC had DODMERB for scholarship.
