Thanks for the clarity. I thought afterward maybe you meant competitive slate, i.e. 15 unranked noms, and yes, I've seen no indication otherwise for any congressional offices in PA, but admittedly with no insider knowledge. And @Screen199, thanks for bringing that 300 statewide candidate number to the discussion. PA is a big state with deep military connections, and that seems plausible, given about 140K high school graduates per year. To be honest, I was somewhat surprised my DD got a senate nom to regionally popular USNA. The superhero caliber stats people post on this forum are intimidating, and I figured some decent percentage of those must be in PA, sweeping up those statewide noms.Oh, @cdthompso1 , you are going to put me on the naughty list for dragging you down the bunny hole.
My understanding (others, please jump in and correct if I get this wrong) is that a "Competitive" nom means that the MOC submits an unranked list (up to 15) and allows the SA to pick.
Other MOCs will rank the candidates. So, if you are a "Principal" nominee, that means you are ranked at the top of the list by the MOC. There are variations of Principal where they also rank the remaining 15 nominees. Here is the bunny hole: https://www.serviceacademyforums.com/index.php?threads/nominations-faq.33450/
