is the personal statement in the beginning of the app. the only part where you will write an essay? is the rest just forms and such. because there are just a couple more things i would like to tell them but its not for the essay topic. is there anyway to tell them on a different note or something.

If you are referring to the Personal Data Record there are numerous areas to make other comments. I recall areas where notes can be made relating to life experiences, awards, etc. Should these areas not be relevant to your needs I would suggest that you make notes and bring them with you to your BGO interview. If you have already had your interview, email your BGO and ask that they add them as notes to their system.

When the CIS system was first initiated, CGO was insistent that it be used exclusively for all accomplishments. However, in the past couple of years , they have eased off this stipulation somewhat. If you really feel that there are items worthy of their attention, submit a letter to CGO with your name and candidate number enumerating them. However, don't use this as an excuse for a 10 page resume which they are going to see as an inability to follow instructions. Just a very simple basic fact sheet of items necessary to allow them to see the true you. Approach this with the understanding that, for the vast majority, the CIS forms are more than sufficient.
