I was wondering if anyone did a personal swearing-in ceremony. I am considering it, but I didn't know how doing one affects a mid's I-Day schedule. Do many do a personal ceremony? Does anyone?

Thanks a lot for any input!

I plan on having one done by a good family friend, a Major in the Army.....I think the personal oaths are done right after for group oath......

I think that it is a nice touch........but I would also welcome to hear from anyone that has actually had it done.....

My husband swore-in my son 2 years ago and will swear-in our second son this year. It is done in an area of Bancroft after the main swearing-in of all Plebes. We got some wonderful pictures and video, and it was something that we will always remember.

It was not a "formal" thing at all. Each group finds their own little spot in the room and starts the oath whenever they are ready. There were plenty of others all around us, so you are not "calling attention" to your Plebe which was one of my concerns.

Also, there was plenty of time to relax with our mid afterwards--if you call 20 minutes plenty of time. Plus...I don't think he was doing any relaxing!
