PFA-Air force and Navy ROTC application assessment

Hello,
I have completed everything on my NROTC and AFROTC applications besides the PFA. Since I'm a dual enrollment student I have not attended my high school for a couple of years and I don't know any of the PE teachers. I see that on the AFROTC AFA it says that it must be a high school official but I'm having a hard time finding someone who is, A. qualified and B. willing to do it since they don't know who I am. Would it be acceptable to have a neighbor who is a coach (no degree, little league events which I'm not sure he can give prof through paper) do my assessment for either the AFROTC or NROTC program which has slightly different requirements? Secondly, will they actually check? Lastly, if they don't accept it, aside from my app being tossed in the trash, will I be disqualified from competing in the future?

I believe your local recruiter for the respective services can give you the test as well.

Contact your local HS guidance counselor to find out who the ALO is in your area. ALO's at least the last I knew were allowed to give the PFA. Do you live near a college that has AFROTC or NROTC, if so they maybe able to assist you there.

You should be able to compete later on for an ICSP, because as far as I know they would consider you as never submitting an application since without the PFA you never completed your application.

Can't I apply for the ICSP even if I do apply for the scholarship now? I think the Navy officer that I met with said that I could compete now, over summer, then the fall after that and then again my sophomore year.
Also, this is not really related, but if I get awarded the HSSP scholarship, do I have a field training before my freshman year. If so, is this where my first actual PFT will be conducted, or is it my first day at college?

Kevin, I'd be careful using any coach for the PFA. Thoroughly look at the requirements on who can administer each test. They are all slightly different. Are you applying to the academies also? If you are applying for USNA the components for NROTC are in the CFA (service academy physical fitness test). I'm not sure about USAF since my DD did not apply to it. My DD did the CFA administered by her HS PE teacher. We pulled out the components and submitted them for NROTC PFT. For AROTC we had the AROTC ROO give the test since it was slightly different. You still have time. Call your HS and arrange a meeting with a PE teacher. Most are more than happy to help out someone who's willing to serve our country.
