My son is going into his senior year as a 16yo. He won't be 17 until the end of September. Does he have to wait until he's 17 to do his PFT? The only reason I ask is because his ROTC unit is starting back up with PT on Monday and it would be ideal if his Staff Sgt. could proctor his PFT during this time.

He is going for Army and Marine. The reason I asked about the age is because when you look at the chart is starts at age 17

I just about had the same problem. My local recruiter said he could record my score and date it for the day of my 17th birthday, although that was before we found out there would be an official PFT date for my Marine Option scholarship. I wouldn't assume it's a big problem among ROTC cadets/applicants, considering they are headed to college and not enlisting. When I spoke with my Staff Sgt. he said it was nothing to worry about, but have your son double check with his.
