If you are accepted into the Academy, does the Congressman/women call your first to congratulate you. I know a lot of people who received a phone call from them but also know a couple that didn't
 
They don't always call or reach out. Some do, but our Congressman did not. First notification came directly from the Academy in my daughter's portal this morning.
 
My DS got his nominations from both the Congressman and Senator. Neither called him to congratulate him. A few days later, he saw the appointment confirmation in his portal. He's a Doolie and looking forward to his Recognition in late April.
 
MOCs are typically given notice a week ahead of the portal announcements so they can inform their candidate if they wish (don't quote me, it's NOT set in stone).
