Anyone looking forward to a phone call tomorrow?
I hope it is a bit longer than the one last week.

I have been praying for PC's and their parents who have been
sick these week. I can imagine it has been tough. My prayer
is that they get well soon and begin to feel better.

May God Bless them and their families.

Phone call

I pray the rest of the Companies don't fall sick too. I know my son in 3rd Company is quarantined and never called not to worry us. The confirmation was seeing NO PICS of him in the parade. Hopefully the virus has been contained-but I worry for the rest and upper classman returning to class. They are tough and they can climb any obstacle. Prayers are with you all. Hope to get a phone call tomorrow.

SFLKP2013 I pray you get a nice long phone call tomorrow and that your boy is on the mend. Please let us all know when you do get that call!

We sit teathered to the phone once more. I hope all those parents whose children are sick get good news that they are feeling better. I want to know how my DS did on his 1st knowledge test, he said he was worried. I wonder what info he will offer. Will post later. Happy waiting all.

phone call

DS called this morning already. He is in 2nd Co and doing well. He is looking forward to classes starting. He passed the math test (don't know why he even worried) but doesn't know which calculus class he will be in yet. He was quarantined in Patton for one night and released. Said it was good to sleep in and have air conditioning - so maybe there is an upside to it. I sure hope that the flu bug has run its course and that candidates get released before classes start on Wednesday. He said his company changed rooms and roommates yesterday (I think) to get ready for the new school year. All in all, he sounded much more relaxed than last week. On to the next roller coaster climb:smile: Hope everyone gets a call today and that much good news is received:thumb:

Good morning everyone. Got the call this morning and he was calling from the clinic...yup he got it last night. This morning had 102 temp. Is bumbed that he might miss the first day or two from classes. But finished INDOC. Fluids, fluids, fluids I told him. He said he is being taken care of very good and nothing to worry about, he'll get over it soon.He told me what supplies he needed for school (basic stuff) and SEND CARE PACKAGES NOW!!!!!INDOC IS OVER!!!!!The stuff they all had to do and go thru was unreal but I wish I could High 5 them all right now. (Boca Raton, Florida)

Glad to hear that early calls are coming in! Since my PC is in sick bay he's allowed to call everyday so Mike's Dad you'll be getting more calls I'm sure! This is rather upsetting because they are starting classes for the entire school in just a few days and it doesn't look like this dang flu bug is going away anytime soon. :frown:

Another call from sick bay

Also got a call this AM from clinic. Seems like a busy place :( . 103 temp and tested for flu. Hopefully this will not go through the entire regiment.... it sounds as though they are taking every precaution. Kudos to the medical & Academy staff for their proactivity. Can you imagine what it's going to be like around the country when all the rest of the colleges start next month!!! Wishing a speedy recovery to all at Patten.

Since my PC is in sick bay he's allowed to call everyday .................

Not sure that has been the case for everyone......our guy has called twice, he has been there (SS SickBay) since Tuesday.....don't know yet if he is out.....have not heard since Friday......... I'll bet if some can get out today and tomorrow, a good deal of "logistics" make up will be going on......not so much physical activity but taking care of the business of getting ready for class starts on Wednesday..... only guessing........:stretcher:

Sunday phone calls

Has anyone received a call today from son or daughter in first company?

Phone call this morning

I got a call this morning! He was on his way to Mass. He is doing great and not sick thank God! He is in Company 1 and moved into his new dorm. He's exciting about starting football this week. I looked on the football site and his name is on the roster #22 He also passed his math placement which means no summer school next summer! My prayers for the ones that are sick and protection for the rest of 2013 class.

We don't know the results of my son's math test yet but if they didn't do well for whatever reason will they have a chance to retake it? Not having any summer would be a real bummer....

Son in 2nd Company phone call

We received a phone call this morning from our son and he was in a great mood. He had just had his armband removed which has limited his activities for days! He was psyched to be able to participate in the waterfront competitions the companies were going to do today. FYI he was injured because of dehydration issues that occurred a couple of days after Indoc started. He was not even able to do the parade because of the armband/dehydration. He stated that he passed his math test. He said that he will get his computer on Tuesday. He said that he will only be able to use cell phone on Sundays. He said that his computer will be completely blocked from using Facebook, etc. (I'm thinking - hooray.) He said to send a sewing kit, undershirts, alarm clock and Gatorade. He said he was moved to his permanent room for the year and will have two roommates, one also from Georgia named Maddox, and another Plebe (I don't know where he's from) named Axelson (sp?). It made me so happy that the armband is now removed and that he was not calling to report coming down with the flu!

No phone call from 1st Co for us either. Last week was at 11:30. Maybe they are at the waterfront. Lots of activity there on webcam.

Axel..is from Mid-Atlantic. This room is not for the year, only the trimester. He will have new room and roomates 2nd and 3rd trimester

Today is the fun day for the PC's. Once training of the Plebe Candidates is handed over to the Regimental officers and not the DI's, the fun will begin all over again.

Buckle up you are just 1/2 way up the first big hill.

Has anyone heard if Band Company has the flu? We haven't heard from our son; it's 2:30 midwest time. We heard from him in the evening last time.
3-4 weeks ago I called, lets say "a person in authority" about skyping. Twice I was told skyping would be allowed. Now it sounds as if our young men and women won't be able to. Does anyone know either way? I like the fact that facebook is blocked. Skyping is certainly faster than instant messaging, which I hear is allowed. What have you heard out there in parent land parents?
