My son is applying for the CGA. At AIM this summer, he said he scored a 219 on the physical fitness test. Should he take the test again to try for a higher score? Will a higher score boost his chances, given all else being equal? Or is 219 good enough? Thanks for the responses!

I am not sure what is considered a 'good' score. Is the CGA fitness test is the same as the other academies (pullups, situps, pushups, shuttle run, basketball throw, and mile run)? My son's scores have ranged from a 419 on his first try at Summer Seminar to a 496 on his best try for the Air Force Academy.

I should have included the scale. Sorry!

My son said the maximum score was 300 and he scored a 219 which he said was the second highest in his company. Passing score was 120 and he said some of the AIMsters didn't even get the minimum!

I don't think increasing your score helps particularly. I would focus on other aspects of your application. Good luck!

My son asked his admissions officer about retaking the test and the reply was his score at AIM was more than sufficient - he scored in the low to mid 200's somewhere. (I forget exactly) So he was told not to worry about retaking it.
