What opportunities are there for Midshipmen to play the piano at the academy? I've been playing my entire life and wish to continue playing but I'm not sure of the time/places I would be able to play.

There's a piano in Smoke Hall, one in Mitscher, and one in Mahan. Midshipmen are allowed to play them whenever they want, and it's actually surprising to see how many talented pianists we have here. There's always somebody playing while walking into King Hall (the cafeteria) through Smoke Hall at lunch time.

How often would I be able to play during Plebe Summer and the rest of the year do you think?

Zippo during plebe summer and it depends on your schedule during the Ac year.

You might also consider getting involved with one of the music-related clubs to increase your access to a piano.

I used to go to Alumni Hall and play, there used to be a bunch of pianos there for midshipman use. Overall though, I didnt get to play nearly as much as I would have liked and I play even less post graduation. That's life I guess...

If music is a priority for you, you will find/make time for it (AFTER Plebe Summer). The Glee Clubs and Gospel choir all need accompanists. Women's glee club has two official rehearsals per week, and more (sometimes every night) in the week leading up to a major concert or other event.

Many Mids keep musical instruments in their rooms, such as a guitar. A keyboard wouldn't take any more space than a guitar, and your parents could bring it to you for PPW.

Good comments above about where all the pianos are. You may also luck out if you asked for a sponsor family, and they have one. One thing you will see again and again across all SA forums here is the value of time management. If it's really important to you, you will figure out how to work it in around all the required and testable stuff. Except for Plebe Summer...
