Hello, I was just wondering if the “whole person concept” that the rated boards use to select pilots can rule out a poor GPA. Currently I have a 2.64 (I’m a first semester freshman, and have plenty of time to bring that up by balancing more humanities and easy A classes into my course load with my difficult classes) as an aero major, but I also go to arguably one of the hardest schools to get good grades at in the US. (it ranks as such on most websites that rank “difficulty of getting an A”) With that in mind, will the rated boards just rack and stack me with no consideration for how difficult my school is, or do they actually look at your school’s ranking? I’m hoping the difficulty and rigor of my school will help me get a good enough AFOQT score that I can mostly negate my poor GPA, but I’d just like to know if it’s possible to still get a pilot slot with, let’s say, a 3.0 as a tech major in a very difficult and highly ranked school.
