After receiving a TWE I need to start exercising my plan B. I am going to attend a civilian university, (hopefully walk on ROTC) but I want to know if I will have to retake the ACT (my scores:COMPOSITE 30;ENGLISH 30; MATH 27; READING 32; SCIENCE 29; ESSAY 9/12) for re applying to West Point next year. Also what is a rigorous service academy plebe year schedule; I am going to major in chemistry or biology.
PS Thanks to all the kind people who have helped me along the way.

Definitely retake and try to get a few more points especially in math. Also take the sat some do better on one than the other. Talk to the rotc programs now and find out if any scholarships are available if someone turns them down. Good luck. My daughter was a reapplicant that went to prep school.

If you decide to retake the ACT again instead of SAT, try to focus on test prepping for the Math section. One, your math score as of now could use some improvement. Two, the academy super scores these test, so if you improve your math score it’ll bring up your over all composite point. Best of luck to you in the next year! Keep pushing forward...you got this!!!

You seem to have a lot of science classes, is this similar for everyone or dependent on your major?

Everyone takes physics 1, chem 1, physical geography, and psychology. In addition you must either take physics 2, chem 2, or biology. West Point just decided to stack them all in my Plebe year. It is not normal to take two sciences in one semester.

Have you considered enlisting? While it may not be exactly what you're looking for now, it could significantly boost your chances of admission.

I have given enlisting serious consideration, but I’d rather go to college. Especially with all the time and effort I’ve put into ROTC scholarships, NROTC marine option scholarship, and raising my scores for specific schools. In the end if I don’t get the scholarships, or admittance to the academy I’m going to probably go OCS.

Also I think I kind of blew my chances of getting into the military yesterday after I hurt my elbow pretty bad during divisional championships for wrestling.

I was referring to doing both enlisting and going to college. If you could attend basic training and AIT before fall classes start, you could: apply as a Soldier candidate which would boost your odds of gaining an appointment, use some of the NG benefits towards college, and still do ROTC. In the event that you a) gained an appointment to USMA or b) contracted with ROTC, you would be conditionally discharged from the NG and exempt of the remainder of your National Guard time because of commission progression. Just thought I'd suggest this because enlisting and going to college are not mutually exclusive.

That will be a challenge. If you are passionate about getting into the military I would try to get with a recruiter, FFR, etc to hear the possibility of a waiver for that.

I haven’t though of it like that. But as I said the injury may not be able to be waived. I cannot really do anything for at least 2 months and until then I don’t really know where I stand (medically).

Why not do NROTC without the scholarship? Perhaps you're considering that but you didn't mention it. You still get to be an officer in the end and there are opportunities to win a scholarship along the way. It's the path my son took.

Do you mind me asking how costly tuition is there? Can an ROTC scholarship be used there
Tuition is $12k per year, they give 50% off for lots of things like Eagle Scout, boys state. I think if you have an unweighted gpa of 3.5 you get 75% merit...don’t quote me on that last one.
