On my portal, it asks if I will need a "government paid airline ticket" so I checked "yes". Am I still supposed to order the tickets myself and just save the receipt for reimbursement, or do I receive the government ticket in the mail?

Not sure dude. I'm waiting until june to fill out the Travel info, I'm just leaving it as a red x for now. I'm sure in the 3rd or 4th admissible mailings you'll get more info.

Did you check "instructions for candidates offered admission?" There definitely is a section on the Tickets

I believe you will have two options:

1. Contact the travel department and they will book you a one-way pre-paid ticket from your preferred home airport. My son asked the nice folks to put him on the same plane as us and they worked it out.

2. If you buy your own one-way you will get reimbursed at the governement rate. You will probably lose money going this route, so call the travel agent provided in the instructions.

I recall they are busy with travel for upcoming grads and summer travel assignments, so be patient.

I checked the government issued ticket option as well and I received an email with a ticket attached a few weeks later. It might take a while for them to get back to you, however, because it says in the instruction book that they will not be processing new cadets travel plans between about may 7 and june 1 because CWT is working on travel for graduating class and for summer assignments for the rest of the corps.
