Just to tell you a little bit about myself: I am a reapplicant who only received one Nom last time and didn't get the TWE until beginning of April. I'm attending Indiana University in the Fall and I'm taking Physics, Calculus, Chemistry w/lab, Comp, and a history class. I graduated from my high school 2/130 with a 3.99 unweighted GPA. Scored a 690 on Math SAT and 650 on CR SAT. Class President all four years, President of Grad Committee, Swing Choir and participated in German Club, Drama Club, and NHS. Varsity Lettered four years in Wrestling, Team Captain Junior and Senior year. Varsity Lettered two years in Cross Country, Team Captain Senior year. Every morning I would come in really early and swim and run and do a military PT based workout. It sort of turned into a club of future military getting together to better each other. During this I also had a part time job which has turned into a full time job this summer.

Now that you know quite a bit about me, on to my original concern! Ever since I can remember I've wanted to serve in the Marine Corps. I'm determined to do it going through the Academy or not. In short, I was just wondering if it bore any weight to my application if I am also opening an application for PLC? Also, any advice or thoughts about myself or stats or the reapplication process is helpful and appreciated. Thanks!

I doubt it provides any points to the WCS in a direct way. I think it will help you out with your application indirectly. It will speak highly that you want to serve and that should show in your essays and recommendations. I think when they score the essays and recommendations it will help to show your willingness to serve and could help boost those.

Are you doing ROTC at Indiana? Also, at work, are you doing anything leadership wise? If you don't join ROTC, what about other student organizations, volunteering, intramural sports to gain leadership? I think your first semester grades will probably be the biggest thing they will look.

Thanks for the input. I am not doing ROTC at Indiana. As far as work, my boss flips houses so it is just me and one other guy that work on them so there is no real room for leadership advancement in such a small operation. I do plan to look into student organizations, intramural sports, and organizations once I get moved in.

Don't think of it as ways to be promoted for leadership, but how are you leading efforts in your current position? Have you provided input to save money, time on the projects? Have you taken the lead on house flipping in certain aspects of the home? Have you created or helped create budgets, plans, schedules? What projects have you undertaken and made things better, more efficient, faster, cheaper? Maybe you took the reins on a bathroom remodel?
