Agency: US Naval Academy
Admission Status Change Date: 17-FEB-2009
Current Medical Status: Qualified (as of 12-FEB-09 )
i just read this off the DODMERB site does this mean what I think it means??? the as of the Feb 12th is because of NROTC but the 17 -feb-09 is new for today

Interesting, it might mean what you think it means. Did you have an LOA? IF so, then it does, if not, I am reasonably sure it still does. Son's admissions status changed as of 5 Feb 2009 (he had LOA) and appointment arrived on 14 Feb 2009. That is all I know...

Where are you seeing this info? Do you go to dodmets.com and click student site and login and go to application status? If i follow that same route there is no field there for agency and it says nothing about the academy. just that i am qualified and my med app. status is closed.

That was the case for me.

LOA to USMA. Waiver came through Feb 2 and admission's status changed on Feb 4th. Received my Appt Feb 14 with the stuff dated the 4th.

If so, CONGRATULATIONS!:thumb:

Awesome news, man! I've gotten the same letter dated February 12, saying that I am qualified. Don't know why they sent me an updated letter though, since I haven't changed anything.

Any news theraven????????

My AFA status just changed...

Agency: US Air Force Academy
Admission Status Change Date: 23-FEB-2009
Current Medical Status: Qualified (as of 13-FEB-09 )

The qualified as of Feb 13 was changed when NROTC was added. Before today, the admission status change date reflected some date in July... Ahh!!!!!!!!

here is hoping that is good news!!!!!

So many mysteries! We were watching DoDMERB site, no news. Then Senator's office called, followed by official appointment package. DoDMERB status still the same. Maybe it will change once they get Son's acceptance?

I don't know if this is the same thing you are talking about, but when AFROTC accessed my son's DODMERB account, it changed the dates on everything. He went from a July date on USNA and AFA to a Jan date, with AFROTC added to the list, and he received a new letter from DODMERB stating he was medically qualified for all three. (He hasn't received anything from USNA or AFA, though.) Still waiting!

BUT, no change on the admission status date, so yours is definitely different . . . and I hope very good news for you!!

Well now i know what the dodmerb change meant my blue folder came in the mail today! :shake: I went out and got a navy hat, planning on wearing it to school tomorrow. But yeah so if you dodmerb site has changed than that very well could be a sign of good things to come it was for me, but for all you still waiting that doesn/t mean anything if it doesn/t change so yeah thank you everyone on the forums for answering all my questions up to this point

Admissions status change date: 23 Feb 09

Yesterday, February 26, appointment offer to AFA arrives! I'd like to think the DoDMERB status means something.

dodmerb status change/addition

Hi all, I noticed early in the week that my son's dodmerb page had changed.
There was a subagency suddenly listed to the right of where US Naval Academy had been. The subagency said: subagency: APNAP

Then in today's mail he received a 2-page letter dated Feb.23, notifying him of his selection to attend NAPS if his remaining admissions requirements are completed. He has already completed the items which were mentioned.

Any one have any thoughts/observations?

I can only offer what my son's reaction would be - TAKE IT - THEY HAVE FAITH IN YOU! Obviously the candidate has the stuff and could benefit from the extra year. Congrats!!!

They like him, but his grades could be better is my guess.

Sounds great. Alot better than a "NO". So he can attend NAPS for year, and then the Academy right after that.

Life is good.

Congrats.

Appreciate the encouragement!

Thanks to Larry2013 & Jbrown. I really appreciate your kind encouragement as I'm thinking the same way about this opportunity for my son. I believe that NAPS is an excellent opportunity to improve on one's academics and maturity in preparation to attend the Naval Academy. Besides, I love the graduation party they throw!!:thumb:

It's simple when you think about it. They want him in NAPS because they want him to succeed. They want to prepare him as best as possible for the Academics of the USNA.

They obviously feel he's worth the investment.

Congrats again

Hmmmm... I checked DoDMERB earlier today (Friday) to find:

Admissions status change date: 12 Mar 09

Before the date reflected sometime in January. Also, the staff member from my MOC's office left a message saying she had good news. I had presumed she was referring to AFA, but perhaps it is USNA??? Wait and see I guess. I wasn't able to reach her Thursday or Friday.
