My name is Chris. I am a junior at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. I have a 3.7 GPA (4.53 grade-weighted). I am ranked number 24 in a class of 989ish. I am taking the SAT next weekend and should be getting my junior year PSAT back this week. Sophomore PSAT was 207. I am currently taking AP Chem, AP Calc AB, AP Comp. Sci. A, AP English, AP Span. IV, and AP Psych. I have already taken AP U.S. History and AP MicroEcon. I am President of the Philosophy Club at my school.
I just had my Eagle Scout board of review this past week and am just waiting for my paperwork to come back. I work at Ransburg Scout Reservation as an Aquatics counselor and have worked there for 2 years. I have also been on the staff of a Leadership training camp for four years and on the senior staff for 2 years. I am on the council of a big service/leadership organization within scouting(it only exists in the Crossroads council.) And am in various leadersihp positions.
I am active in my church and every 3rd saturday I go help feed the homeless and pass out clothing.
I have played soccer since I was 3 and have played premier level soccer since I was 9. I have started for my high school team since I was a sophomore and we have won 2 straight sectional championships, went to 5 straight county semi-finals(2 since I've been starting), and have gone to 2 straight regional finals(only regional finals for soccer in school history. I was named academic All-State this year.
I guess this sounds kind of self-righteous so I'll tell you that I also like long walks on the beach and sometimes I just get in the mood where I need to sit down with a tub of ben and jerry's and watch the Gilmore Girls.
If you would like to know anything else about me just ask.
-Chris T.

Off the topic question:

Is your school named after Ben Davis Sr or Ben Davis Jr?

(Anyone who doesn't know about these two men needs to do some homework  )

The school is named for 1880's Vandalia Railroad Executive Benjamin Davis. He was instrumental in getting a stop on the railroad for a small community that would come to bear his name. The community members were so appreciative of Mr. Davis' efforts that they named the stop after him. The community around the stop became known as "Ben Davis".

straight from wikipedia, they don't really talk about this at school.

Thanks for the info. :thumb:

I would have guessed it was named after either General Ben Davis Sr (USA) the first African-American Army general, or his son General Ben Davis Jr (USAF) the first African-American USAF general and leader of the 99th Fighter squadron and later the 332nd (Tuskegee Airmen) during WWII.

But then again, I cannot connect anything about them to Indiana, I should have known.
