Much easier to do the induction physical that way.If your DS showed up in nothing more than running shoes, I'll bet he was was the talk of I-Day!

Candy, sugary foods, and junk food will be confiscated if mailed.
This isn't true.
^ This ... it's long been the case that every Company has its own personality, largely driven by the personalities of the First Class in any given years , but some Company's get and maintain a semi-permanent reputation -- usually as being harder or easier than the norm. While I suspect there is an official policy on sweets and other gedunk, Detailers have some discretion in how much emphasis they want to place on a particular issue.I would also suspect the degree of enforcement may differ depending on each company-- as are a number of rules/policies.
It certainly was true during the Plebe summer of 2016. Candy and other "junk food" was in fact confiscated within my DS's company. I can't speak to whether it happened last summer. I would also suspect the degree of enforcement may differ depending on each company-- as are a number of rules/policies.
You are correct....it is VERY company specific. My son was able to keep gummy bears and Werther's I sent.Candy, sugary foods, and junk food will be confiscated if mailed.

Speaking of Plebe Summer, looks like the Midstore is ready for all y’all...View attachment 1570
May not be SOP but I know for sure it was done last summer quite a bit in a few friends' plebe's companies. You are correct....it is VERY company specific. My son was able to keep gummy bears and Werther's I sent.
It's not even company specific. It's against the SOP for detailers to confiscate items that are not contraband.
The guys wont be needing a hairbrush lol
Also one female in 2020 accidentally got her head shaved (true story).
Don’t forget to bring your fully charged phone and charger in a ziplock bag with your name on it as well.I plan on bringing nothing other than myself, my wallet, my paperwork, and one good pair of running shoes.
Edit: plus a scientific calculator for placement exams.
What color of compression shorts?
You don’t gift your teacher to show your appreciation but it’s the other way around?A dear teacher of mine gifted me a nice scientific calculator
I am sure you would have come to a similar solution as well!Thank you for the reminder to have my phone bagged up.

Yea! I’m going to go next week.
Trying to figure out schedule for family weekend. All I see online is August 9 to August 12. Don't the plebes get to leave and stay with family for a night or two? Does it have to be family or can it be a family friend? Anyone have some approximation of a schedule? The info for this summer isn't up, at least that I could find, and last year's info has been removed.
