Hey! Good day to all! As someone who is about to go to plebe summer this summer, can I get some workout advices and routines that i should do during the summer besides running and swimming? Also, any type of plebe summer advice is also welcomed! Thank you all in advance!

There's a great thread pinned to the top of the USNA discussion board, which I'll link below. Other than that, I'm also headed to Plebe Summer this year, so I'm looking forward to it!

Any well balanced routine that incorporates calisthenics is suitable. In addition to running you will be doing lots of pushups, planks, leg lifts, and occasionally some pullups and bodyweight squats. My main advice for the training is just to be humble going on. Most of it is not going to be fun, the goal is to make you uncomfortable to instill discipline and resilience, so keep an open mind during the difficult moments.

When I was little, my two older brothers would beat the hell out of me with 16 ounce boxing gloves ....

Plebe DD sent me this Photo a couple hours ago .... Today she is starting the boxing phase of her mandatory PE class.

DD told me about the part in plebe boxing when a couple mids would make a wink-wink deal that they’d go easy in the sparring sessions. It was pretty obvious what was going on and those mids did not get the best grades. 🙄

That has gone on for many decades but the funny thing is that those wink wink agreements sometimes go awry once in the ring and then a real battle begins.

YES, I am that Mom that sits on the edge of her seat with her eyes covered during every football 🏈 play threatening to run out on the field if another player gets to aggressive with my DS...Alleluia 🙏 ~ I never had to do it! 🤣
I have had my fair share of dealing with pretty bad/life threatening concussions in adolescents, so I am a bit sensitive to it.

I have watched MANY boxing classes and competitive bouts at USNA and I don't think I ever saw a concussion or even an injury beyond a bloody nose. The (mandatory) headgear and vigilant coaches/referees do a good job of keeping it safe.

Thank you JESUS! I needed to hear that 🤗🥰 …otherwise it would be cocktail hour 🍹🍷🍸🥃 at my house for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! All SAF peeps are welcome! 🙌
