Plebes and West Point Tailgates

Are Plebes allowed to go to home football tailgates at West Point if they don't have duties?
 
YES! They can pop in Saturday before the game & Saturday after the game. They can swing by Friday night and Sunday morning if you are camping on post. My cadets partied like rock stars w/ the friends who hosted my wedding shower...who have an RV and camp on post for every home game.

Tailgates are a great opportunity for plebes to decompress on home game weekends. But let me offer one note of caution - do not get caught drinking, even if the plebe is over 21 years old. My son had a couple of company mates that drank last fall during tailgates (something they absolutely should not be doing in uniform). They got drunk to the point of acting inappropriately, even when a senior officer approached them about it. The situation nearly spiraled into an honor investigation because of the actions of the plebe.
 
We just did the AF Game tailgate, 9am was a little too early to hit the sauce, but there were drinkers in the regular parking lot, cadets were just playing games in their tailgate area and eating food and nobody was drinking there.
 
Yes. I'm the only plebe on my company's Sandhurst team and we go to our C.O's dad's tailgate every Saturday.

Yup. They announced last week that the MPs are being called to deal with intoxicated cadets.
