Plebes/cell phones during PPW

I noticed that Plebes don't get their cell phones generally until August 20th - based on a slide shown by either the Superintendent or Commandant during an I Day presentation. My question: Do Plebes get their phones during PPW and then turn them back in. Or, do they go without the phones (over PPW) until the 20th?
 
My son’s phone was stored away ... given to him to make phone calls ... and then taken back.

Edit: yes, he gave it back at end of PPW. He was with his family the whole time and didn’t really use it anyway.

When they check out for PPW, they’ll get their phones. They’ll turn them back in when they return. From there, just a few days until the end of PS and they get their phones back for good.
 
If things operate as in past years, plebes will have their phones during liberty times of PPW. That comes in handy if your plebe needs to be contacted by the COC for some reason, like forgetting to sign out….

Yes confirmed per the parents guide for PPW.
 
Although, as with all things, if something goes wonky or bad, if can be withheld. It’s a reward.

They give them, and they can take the away…nothing is ever guaranteed!
