Most of the forms required for appointed candidates explain when they can be sent in. But, there is no infomation for the Police Record Check? Is this something we can do now? Would rather do everything and get out of the way, but wondering if they don't want this done until later? I could not find any timeline on this anywhere.

My police record checks are already sent in to West Point and they're showing on my candidate portal. You can send them in now if you like. I would have them in as soon as you can get them in.

Jake -

When you sent in yours did you use your own envelope that you addressed yourself, or did WP provide you with one with the address the Police Record Checks request you send it to?

My cadet attached self-addressed, stamped envelopes with the necessary WP address and left it with the 2 different agencies he had to have reports from.

I used one of the gray envelopes west point sent me for the police record check.

Wait, since when do we have to send in police record checks?
I submitted everything in August, everything on my portal turned green, and I don't see anywhere on there that says something about that.. I'm confused.

The police record check is part of the forms appointees have to turn in. These forms are in the "Instructions for Admitted Applicants" packet that appears on your portal once you are offered an appointment.

They are looking for anything, including minor traffic violations. It is to ensure new cadets will be eligible for security clearances when it comes time to commission. The most common disqualifier for a clearance is outstanding debt, which new cadets should not have a problem with. A parking ticket won't matter, but a felony obviously does.

I'm kind of confused as to how many places I need to take a Police Record Check. The info packet says you need to get a check down for town you live in and the town you go to school in, etc. However, the town I go to school in is the county office, so I was told by the police station office in the town where I live that I could just go to the county office and have only one done (since it would include BOTH the records from the town I live in AND the town where I go to school since it has all the records from the entire county).
