DD has received accepted her appointment and downloaded the forms required to be sent in advance. For the police record check - will that need to be returned to USNA before I-Day? She read the instructions and will deliver the forms tomorrow to the two agencies (her school is in a different city from our home address) but there is nothing within the instructions that indicates a due date. Because she is dropping off the form and the agencies are the ones mailing it back - she's nervous that it may not get there in time. Also because the form doesn't indicate a due date for the agencies - she doesn't want it sitting at a desk for too long. Any help with this is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I remember this one...we had one agency that wouldn't do it (city police), so took it to the county police. They did it all online...same day. This is one that seems to get 'overthought'. It's pretty basic, they want it done as a general form. As soon as possible. Ask when you drop off (or call, that is what DS did, ended up emailing if I remember correctly...but it was super easy the second route). Most are probably pretty willing to help a kid out! And probably don't have much going on currently.

In fact, in light or what IS going on? I would call and see if it CAN be scanned and emailed. Social distancing, reduce your risk!

This step is always a pain in the rear. Just do your best with getting the forms in early. If they don’t get them as I-Day approaches, you’ll receive an email from somebody in the Nominations and Appointments office asking if you sent it. If for some reason there is an issue, candidates can submit a statement affirming whether they have any police record and it will be accepted. At least, this is what happened two years ago.
