I just recently tried the Spicy Chicken Sandwich at Popeyes and man let me tell you it was GOOOOD! The sauce was just unbelievable! I used to be a Chick-Fil-A fan and I had never had Popeyes but my first time did not disappoint. Has anyone on this forum had both? Which is your favorite? Personally I think the Sandwich at Popeyes is better but the Chick-Fil-A fries are better. What do you think?

The Popeye's spicy chicken sandwich is phenomenal but it is a little rich. I always feel a little bit queasy by the end. I like Chick-Fil-A too but Popeye's is better. Not a fan of those CFA waffle fries though - yuck. I prefer the battered fries at Popeye's or red beans and rice with my spicy chicken tenders.

I've had both and it isn't close. Chick-Fil-A all day, every day. Has the ideal balance of coating and chicken. Chicken is always optimally cooked -- juicy and tender, which is not easy with breast. Spicy version is just right -- a bit of kick without masking the chicken flavor. And the bun is hard to beat. I won't quibble about the fries, as that's just a sideshow.

I know when USNA and USAFA need quick and easy comfort food, they turn to CFA. (I'm guessing the other SAs would too, if they had a say.) Nearly 9,000 cadets and mids can't be wrong, can they?

KFC. Still the classic best in everything chicken. Plus great potatoes & gravy.

Popeyes is the king, and everyone else is fighting for a distant second. Except for the horribly overrated Chick-fil-A. I ate a a Chick-fil-A once. Once. Tepid, flavorless, limp with a moist slimy coating instead of a crisp breading. Dreadful disappointment doesn't begin to describe Chick-fil-A. And don't even get me started about the under-seasoned, mushy waffle-fries. Yuck.

Bojangles... just got have more! Nah, just kidding. Clearly it's Chik-fil-A. Of course if there were more than one Popeye's within 120 miles, and that one is 40 miles, I might have a different opinion.

Overrated. Nothing will match the service and taste of Chick fil A! I'm just glad AAFES doesnt have a contract with them for their food courts...I know where I'd be for lunch every day...

I am not one to go to fast food places, but I had to try them both. I preferred the Popeye's chicken sandwich.
Now, I had the Popeye's sandwich without the sauce (which I think is mayo and adds about 200 empty calories) so that I could compare them on an equal level.

If I did it again however, I would probably opt for the Chick-Fil-A sandwich because the other one was gigantic. I would say that the Popeye's version contained 40% more chicken. I fell into a food coma after eating that thing.

Chick-fil-A just opened up in the town where I and is wreacking havoc on traffic in the area. It is next to a freeway exit and traffic has been backed up on the freeway for about 2 miles; people blocking the intersection, waiting in traffic 2+ hours, running out of gas while waiting in line, fights. What a mess! Now keep in mind this is not the first Chick-fil-A in the area. There is one in the city about 20 minutes away where you get one, although I hear you still usually have to wait about 15 minutes. Reminds me of when In-n-Out opened in the same area several years ago. No wait at Popeye's now that the initial rush to get their sandwich died down.

Don't be dissing Bojangles! I love that place. I only get to enjoy it when I return to the South.

When the DS's were young we went to OBX, flying into Wilmington, NC. Our first stop from the Airport, at my insistence was Bojangles. Mrs. cb7893 and the boys didn't grow up in the south and were unaccustomed to the smell of country ham. They immediately returned to the car and waited for me while I ate my ham and biscuits and luxuriated in the aroma.

BTW Chick-Fil-A has Texas Pete hot sauce in the condiment stand.

Bojangles makes a fine chicken, and we go there often because it's just a couple miles up the road vs 15 to Chik-fil-A. The wife gets the 2 piece white box and I get the two piece dark, of the Cajun Filet Club. Now, if only this particlar establishment could do a better job of getting my order right!

They could probably tidy up the Restrooms a bit as well. No one beats Chick-Fil-A in that department.

I had another Popeye's chicken sandwich yesterday without sauce. Yes, Popeye's is better.

A piece of fried chicken should crunch, not squeak. The Chick-Fil-A sandwich is mushy.

Had my first Popeye's spicy chicken sandwich on Sunday. Great flavor, moist chicken, not much in the crunch dept, the breading felt thick, like it was overbreaded. To be fair, probably not their best example, and I'll need to try it again. Would like to do a side by side with CFA's spicy. BTW, when eating a chicken swndwich, spicy is the only way, my go-to is CFA spicy, extra pickles and plenty of Texas Pete!
