Portal Access Down?

No email for son either. He had track distance practice at 6 am morning so I hadn't seen him. He had just ran 15 miles and I ambushed him coming in the door," Check your email, check your portal." as soon as he walked in the house. He told me I needed to get a grip and chill out.

In my experience, the email to check my portal was to notify of an appointment. Last year when I was denied, the email actually stated, "We regret to inform you..." and I did not have to go to my portal. This year, it just notified me of a status change but that might be something new for this year.

Glad to know I'm not alone on the crazy parent train [emoji12] [emoji12] [emoji12] [emoji577] [emoji578]

My guy, who has an appointment, checked this morning in empathy with your kids (or was it me saying, "I hear the USAFA portal is down, please would you check to confirm?" ) So, not working for him either. Holding you all in my prayers. I know that the waiting in this situation must be extremely challenging. Let the mystery continue...

Also, I would say that, "Years from now you will laugh about this computer-challenging day" but the reality is that for the next four years--and the years after that you will be so busy that this will be a blur that no longer matters. Good luck.

I am sure that will be the case. Going on checking it steadily for 10 hours.

Apparently DODMERB is also based at the USAFA, heard they had some really bad weather a day or 2 ago. However, weather should have no bearing on the Dept of Defense's systems. There has to be a reason.....

I've been told to relax......sigh!! Good Luck!

I am not giving up for the day - keeping the faith - we were so excited to receive the email at 5 this morning and now it's 12 hours later. Thank goodness for external phone chargers as we have been at my DS's volleyball tournament all day.

DD had exactly that language in the email notifying her to check the portal this past October. It was an appointment. So while I won't say it's safe to assume it's an appointment, you should not assume it's a TWE by any regard. Fingers crossed!

In re-reading the emails, the first one says, "You have a new message from the US Air Force Academy Admissions office. This message contains important information about your offer of appointment." The second one was, "You have a new message from the US Air Force Academy Admissions office. This message contains important information concerning your appointment." So I am hopeful, want to see it to believe it.

Two emails is what my DS received when he was accepted so fingers crossed for you. The first email stated "congrats", the second one was "you need to do a criminal background check"...

I just went back and re-read the two emails DS received on 3/15. They were both identical to what you pasted here and in the same order!! We've been checking the portal all day as well just because we are excited for you. What a time to be down!
