We received the same e-mail. DS received a congressional nomination for every academy EXCEPT Air Force. Is it possible to get a nomination at this point - a superintendent source for example?

Could the LOA be for Prep school? Falcon Foundation? Just some thoughts...I really have no clue. Whatever it is, can't wait to hear. For the rest of those still waiting, best wishes.

Good question so I rechecked the letter and it states the LOA is for the Academy. No mention of Prep school or Foundation. DS did apply for Nomination from the Vice President, but I assumed VP or superintendent noms are quite rare and possible reserved for the recruited athletes. This is such a weird place to be. We had assumed that AFA was not an option without a congressional nom, so this leads to a new level of hope. Thanks for your feedback.
 
birdsnest2021: My bet is that is one of the VP nominations which is generally used for candidates who don't have a nomination. The admissions board saw something/s special in your DS app that they need for the best class composition. Good luck!
 
Does anyone know of you always hear via the portal first? Seems like some get a call from the MOC, then a letter or some other option. Just curious if it's always an email first.

It all depends. I got a call the day prior to a portal update. Some MOC are very busy and don't have time to call. I've heard of many people not receiving phone calls and just the portal updating. There is no definite yes or no. That's the nature of this stressful period of the application. Anyways BEST OF LUCK! AIM HIGH!
 
Congrats to all receiving appointments. I know you are all proud and excited. I wish you all the best of luck. Still waiting here in NJ but it appears it won't happen. Senators slate was just filled. There's still the Congressman slate but it may have been filled for all I know. We have a Presidential nomination but I'm not to optomistic about that. I just wish they would give us the TWE already and end the suffering. Haha. Not really suffering, just agonizing. But I know we are not the only ones. For all those still waiting, you're not alone. How do you know your Senator slate was filled? By the list here? I wish more Utahans would be on here posting so we could watch. We have no clue who/what/when/where other than one or two other I am aware of that are on here. Makes the agonizing even worse I think.
