So today is April 1st and the day most of us have been waiting for. I know my DS has. Question, When does admissions typically release updates to the portal?

For EA it seemed largely irregular. Some people had heard by noon, some later in the day. Personally, I found out right around 3 PM when I randomly checked my portal. An email came out around 9 PM informing everyone of a portal update.

Everyone will hear today...just gonna be a day filled with obsessive portal checking :)

Yes this is correct. I believe I received news on Jan. 15 at about 1600.

We just heard. And unfortunately it was not the news we had hoped and dreamed for.
If it is truly a dream my DS was rejected from high school then self prepped at MMI. Last year they took 9 out of 15 self preppers mine was one of the six. He returned and has two appointment offers so far. MMI has an excellent program, scholarship opportunities, and will work to get the appointment.

DS received bad news as well. Hits harder since he was deferred from EA so the wait has been longer. Now to revisit his Plan B's to determine which is the best fit academically and athletically. I think he will see how he feels after the disappointment starts to wear off and see about reapplying next year. I was honestly surprised he wasn't offered CGAS as an option.

So sorry for the news. Hate to ask but since your DS was EA, did his portal have a new decision letter beside the one on the 15th?

So sorry to hear, what sport? Hope he finds the perfect place to continue his sport!

Wrestling. Thank you--he has several offers but this was his first choice so now to pick the next best fit. Competed at a National Tournament this weekend so got a few more looks so that is good.

I am not sure. He checked it at school. I have never asked him for his log-in information so not sure what it looks like.

It was shocking and stings hard at first. But we are already moving forward with his plan B. He has an rotc scholarship. So he had a good plan b in place. As of right now he plans to do great at college and reapply next year. I'm a strong believer in things happen for a reason. Maybe he needs this year to grow a little and it will just make him a better cadet next year.

Was he a recruited athlete?

Good luck to your DS. I feel very similar. Maybe now was not my DS time but there is always next year if this is where he is meant to be.
