So last Thursday I received a phone call from my senator congratulating me on being accepted into the USAFA, she said I would receive a portal update and an email, the only thing is it has been 4 days and I haven't received either! Any comforting thoughts I'm quite worried.

I agree with sportsfan & beantown31 - my son received that wonderful call from our senator last Thursday as well. Our senator told him the appointment will show on the portal on the 15th.

Congrats to you and all your hard work. Just a couple more days & you'll see it in your portal. If you're like my DS, he is almost afraid to believe it is true until he sees it with his own eyes on his portal.

Okay that is wonderful news. It has been a crazy application process and I am so happy it paid off!

Yep still waiting, wonder what comes first though, Med Waiver or Appt? anyone?

Med waiver MUST come first as far as I know. I am a waiver recipient and received an appointment!

Tf00002 is correct. The waiver must come first.

To the OP, the portal will update on (or around) the 15th. That's what my Congresswoman told me as well. I personally believe there are so many appointments coming out right now that USAFA thinks it's best to just update all portals at once, and that's why it's taking so long. (I could be wrong, though. It happens a lot.) Congratulations!

So in other words are you saying that the rest that are waiting to be notified could potentially be notified the 15th as well?! That would be amazing. I really hope that happens. I just want any sort of notification at this point.

I cannot say that for sure as I am just an appointee and not any authority on the matter, but from what I have read on here and what my congresswoman told me, I would say that's a possibility. I don't want to spread rumors or get hopes up, but logically it makes sense.

I really hope that possibility becomes a reality!! Haha *fingers crossed*

I was told by my congressional office also that the portal would update on the 15th.

According to the Instructions to Candidates, "In mid-March, during what we call "regular selection," the majority of appointments will be offered to candidates in each specific nomination category. " The initial notification should come from your MOC then give it about a week for portal and/or email update.

Congrats to harrihaven, xcmum and hardworker on your appointment notification! Good luck to all who are still waiting!

So... DS still hasn't received his medical waiver (2 shoulder surgeries), but he received a call from 2 MOC last week on his appointment. Is it safe to assume the waiver may be updated tomorrow as well? The waiver is actually from the USAFA, but it should be updated on the DODMERB portal, right? I wasn't worried till I saw the comments that the waiver should come first. :)
