Possible LOA - Reapplicant for Class of 2023

That’s awesome! Congrats! My RC told me they don’t give LOAs to college students, but you’re now the 2nd person I’ve heard of who’s gotten one

I would like to add I have received an LOA (early-mid september) and JUST received my nomination from my congressman. I am a college student, and the reason for my LOA being offered was because I went from a 27 to a 33 Act score, so that was a huge boost in my opinion. At this point, my file is now complete and my portal shows I have received a nom. From what I've read, this MOST LIKELY (not a 100% guarantee) will mean I should be receiving my appointment sometime soon. This is where my patience will be tested, but I know I can't do anything else at this point. I feel humbled to have found a forum site that is filled with helpful people who are all encouraging, and good luck to all candidates for the class of 23'

Congrats. Unfortunately, your post just confuses me more about the process. DS is also a re-applicant with a new 34 composite ACT, Varsity Captain, Boys State, Class president (740 students in his grade), Chief Petty Officer (Sea Cadets), tons of ECA, strong CFA and Med qualified .... yet no LOA

@Objective, don’t try to compare stats and say “my DS has the same/similar stuff, so why doesn’t he have an LOA.” There’s so much more to tbis than checking off certain boxes. There’s a lot you don’t see, such as personal statement, impact of leadership roles, rigor of courses, letters of recommendation. The WCS is formulaic, but not that formulaic.

Hi, I apologize for confusing you. the LOA was definitely not just for the ACT score, but I will never know. It is more than just numbers and crossing off boxes, like MidCakePa said. I wish you and your DS the best of luck!

I just got a call from an admissions officer and she is willing to offer me a letter of assurance (LOA); however, as a reapplicant she stated that I must first pass the CFA! So, the CFA is my top priority at the moment.

@tratliff As a reapplicant, I assume you took the CFA last year. What were your scores like then?

Is your DS a reapplicant or a Senior this year? Because Hunterthehulk is a re-applicant..
