Possible Major Army Budget Cuts?

Probably about as helpful as General Assistance, as mean as Corporal Punishment, as smothering as Private Quarters, and as irritating as Captain Obvious. Why can’t they all be like Lieutenant Dan (latter edition) or Colonel Sanders? 🤣😂🤪
I second the thought on Colonel Sanders...
(He's the current AFJROTC Director)

History says with the end of involvement in Afghanistan and a democratic administration more interested in 'domestic programs' another major downsizing of the military is coming as was the case in the early 90s after Desert Storm. I believe there will be major across the board cuts in military spending come FY '23.

The Military is going to lose support from the Repulican/Conservative base because of Lloyd Austin and the like. Once this happens, yes the military will be defunded.

True story: I know a guy at USMA who's last name was General. I'm sure he was real popular showing up at his first assignment reporting as LT General. I am sure he turned heads wherever his name was said.

I deployed with a Major Sergeant. We were onloading in Elizabeth City and I walked up on he and the SPMAGTF sergeant major who were conversing on the flight deck of the Ponce.

I hadn't had the displeasure of meeting the major. I looked at his rank and his name tape and then looked at the sergeant major's collar devices and said, whoa, very cool, or something like that. The major said, I know we're aboard ship now Chief, but saluting is still required.

I rendered my best shipboard salute, said "good afternoon suuur" and could hear the sergeant major laughing as I walked off.

Wild guess here but I think you mean Morehead City as that is where the amphibs have onloaded East Coast Marines for a very long time. Semi-tough sea detail for the ships and the harbor pilots were a real experience (!)

Fun Fact: Morehead City is also the home of the annual "Bald is Beautiful" Convention.

Good catch. Thanks for the assist. My wife's friend's husband died recently and she lives in Elizabeth City. Had that on my mind I reckon.

No bites on the "Bald is Beautiful" convention?

Does "More Head" give a hint as to why
Before my son became a Hollywood Marine we got to see him more often. Every time we got to this sign on the way to Lejeune my wife would say: Stop, stop, I’ve gotta get a picture. I’d say, what, are you 16? There’s a car right behind me. We stopped probably half the time but I found this pic on the Internet.

Beaufort to Swansboro, Shackleford Banks to Bogue Inlet--My single favorite piece of US Geography. Of course it ain't what it used to be in the 1970's.
