Possible Police Districts

I had a question regarding the police background check. I have graduated HS and attended one year of college in a different city. For some reason, our local sheriff's office in my hometown wouldn't mail in the police background check so I did it myself. This turned out to be fine, but I reread the directions which stated that they need record checks from places that you went to school or work at. If the admissions/appointee registration people do not ask for another record check from the city that I spent a year in college from, is what I sent them sufficient?

I would get one from the town where you went to college for a year, just to cover all the bases.
