Hi,
If I use an ROTC scholarship my first year of college, but then transfer to a different college (which still has the same ROTC branch and I plan to participate all undergrad) can the scholarship transfer over too? (Granted there are slots available).

You would need to contact Cadet Command and make that inquiry. I don't think it is as easy as just changing schools.

Agree with EEBTTF. There are many factors that go into the decision to allow yo to transfer the scholarship to a new school after already attending a different college. It may not even be possible to give an accurate answer at present as some of those factors will be dependent on when the transfer is attempted. Sometimes it can be transferred, sometime it's not allowed. Contact Cadet Command.

I know two people who have done this with NROTC; one was successful, one was denied. No real reasonings to why the second one was denied, but the unit staff speculated it was because he was trying to transfer from a cheaper state school to more expensive school. The successful one transferred from a private to private school. Reach out to your command, though I wouldn't bank on being able to transfer. It might also be hard to adjust to a completely new school / unit.
